A. It's easy! Come on a trip...Meet new people...Make new friends...All that is required is a good attitude and the desire to share fun experiences with others. Once you have done that you get your official ORA membership sticker, user name and password, and full access to our site.
Q. Is Oregon Active a singles group?
A. No we are not a singles group. We are an outdoor adventure group. Oregon Active is a community of like minded people that want to enjoy the outdoors and the company of some great friends. Bring your significant other and friends or just come alone and rest assured you will meet some fun people.
Q. How much does membership cost?
A. That's easy also. Membership is always free. The only cost is your time which is always well spent!
Q. How much do the activities cost?
A. Some activities are free... Some cost money... On the larger adventures that do entail an expense we try to keep the cost relative to what it would be for our members individually. The idea is to experience things together as a group. The trips involve transportation, lunch and of course lots of fun!!! At Oregon Active, we always maintain a sense of involvement in the community...by giving back. Every activity a portion of the proceeds is donated to a local charity.
Q. Can I request a trip?
A. Yes. We are always interested in hearing from our members. We have a choose your own adventure button on the Adventures Page. Here you can start planning a trip for you and your friends and we will take care of the details. Feel free to write us on the Contact Us page and give us your opinion on what you would like to do as an Oregon Active member.
Q. Will you customize a trip for me and my friends?
A. We would love too. If there is a specific activity you would like to do with a group of your friends let us now. We will coordinate all the planning and take care of the details. This is a great way to share new experiences with a group of your closest friends. Go to the Choose Your Own Adventure Button on the Adventures Page.
Q. How many people usually go on your activities?
A. Groups tend to be from 8 to 15. This allows us to spend more time getting to know one another and creating that sense of community. Some trips can go as large as groups of 30.
Q. Can I contact other members?
A. It seems that on every adventure members meet new friends and end up exchanging contact information. The whole point is to be a group and enjoy. We will never divulge personal information to anyone.
Q. What do you mean by giving back?
A. The whole idea is based on creating and maintaining a sense of community involvement. Through these experiences and adventures, we promote a sense of responsibility to give back what has been given to us. We accomplish this by donating to local sustainable causes on every trip and by providing no cost adventure trips to young survivors of cancer.
Q. Do you donate with every activity?
A. We take a portion of the cost of every activity and donate to a local cause. We donate our time as a group as well. At Oregon Active we encourage our members to donate their time and stay involved in the community whenever possible. Oregon Active will do our part to help facilitate this community involvement. We are working with various local Cancer Support Groups to provide Adventure trips at no cost to young survivors. This is one of the causes that is closest to our hearts. Q. How do I get one of those stickers?
A. Stickers come free with the membership. Display them with pride. This way you can be recognized by your fellow Oregon Active Members around town. We will leave the secret hand shakes up to you.
Q. So what is Oregon Active?
A. We are a group of old friends and new. A place to meet like minded people. A great way to experience all the great things our region has to offer in a positive and friendly environment. It's all about good people, sharing good times, and making great memories. We plan fun group activities trying to keep the cost relative to what it would be for you to do it individually.
